Mister Bush is Really Awesome!

Kathryn Jean Lopez at the National Review (h/t to Perrspectives):

Wouldn’t George W. Bush make an awesome high-school government teacher? Wouldn’t it be something if his post-presidential life would up being that kind of post-service service? How’s that for a model? Who needs Harvard visiting chairs and high-end lectures? How about Crawford High? (Or wherever?) Reach out and touch the young before they are jaded, or break them of the cynicism pop culture and possibly their parents have passed down to them.

By an odd coincidence, I spent the last eight years resisting the temptation to write to George W. Bush's high school government teacher to berate that individual for having done such a lousy job of teaching Bush anything about government.

It's my opinion that he's taught the country about all it can stand or even possibly survive. I would hope to have the courage to just shoot myself if it came to him teaching anything else.
