All right, now I feel old: “The Macintosh — the first Apple computer to bear the name — turns 25 on 24 January.” A quarter century since I retired my two Kaypros and moved up to that brand-new Mac with those unbelievably huge floppy disks? You could do a search-and-replace on an entire book manuscript with one of those 3.5-inch beauties.

Posted by: Chuck Dupree on January 23, 2009 3:40 PMI was an early adopter as well----proportional spacing! 128 to Fat Mac (extortionate upgrade) to a 2.5MB Dove card--and then sold it for a large chunk of my investment. I remember some very amusing conversations with folks who did not quite get that “40 column or 80 column” was no longer an appropriate question.
