Howard Zinn Pts 3 and 4 (from the Real News Network)

Here are a couple more videos from the Real News Network with Howard Zinn as guest. I would note that Mr. Zinn recommends that we vote for Obama and then push to get our the agenda we hope for as the “change” that Obama promises. I realize that in non swing states that are already locked up, it’s not only tempting but sensible to begin that journey now, however, for those of us in swing states where the voting might be close, this can cause extreme anxiety for those seeking to avoid McSame or Bush term #3. Without further ado, here’s Mr. Zinn.

It's true that those of us in states like California where the outcome is not in any doubt, we have the luxury of voting our conscience -- but in that case we might as well abstain if no candidate is perfect.

Here's the thing, by voting for Barack Obama, you are making an affirmative change, rather than once again exercising your protest and remaining in opposition. That Barack Obama will not do precisely as we might want is certain, but the America that we will be living in will be a much better America than we have had until now, and the greatest opportunity will exist for us to exercise our freedom to make it permanently better in the future.
