In 2004, I worked very hard to secure the vote of a Republican, 40-something, single-woman neighbor. She'd grown to dislike/be frightened of Bush and wanted him out of office, but she didn't like Kerry any better, based on what she saw on TV because she doesn't take a newspaper. I think in the end she didn't vote at all, mostly because the national Democrats didn't try to win her vote.
